Local Community

Dean & Associates is integrally involved in the community of the Waitaki and actively supports a number of organisations. We strongly believe in maintaining a very close relationship with the people and institutions of North Otago, and being aware of the issues affecting the region.

As well as sponsoring charities such as Heart Children, the Kids Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation, Angels for Charitible Trust and Young New Zealander Foundation, the firm provides financial assistance to worthy local school children for furthering their education or sporting endeavours.

We also provide prize donations to local high schools, support the Cancer Society Relay for Life and act for a large number of voluntary community groups, incorporated societies and trusts.

Bill served for many years as the President of the North Otago Rugby Union and is a powerful advocate for provincial rugby throughout the country. Many community clubs and interest groups retain Bill as their adviser.

Ben serves as the President of the Oamaru Cricket Club, captained the club's senior side for many years and is the NZ Cricket Code of Conduct Commissioner for North Otago. He also served six years as Vice President of the Excelsior Rugby and Associated Sports Club, as trustee of the Waitaki District Community House Trust and on the board of the North Otago Cricket Association. Ben is retained by many community organisations such as the Kakanui Offshore Fishing Club, Waitoa Park Golf Club and the Oamaru Wine & Food Festival.

Alister served on the Golden Oldies Rugby Festival committee which coincided its activities with the country's Rugby World Cup celebrations. He has also been a chief organiser of Waitaki Boys High School and Enfield Rugby Club reunions together with serving terms as secretary of the North Otago A&P Association, North Otago Tennis Association and various other committees.

The firm is intensely proud to have been involved in our local community for over one hundred and thirty years and will continue to provide support for many years to come.
